Academic Support for Spectra Secondary School Students
Helping academically weaker students to level up
Partner: Crest Secondary School
Temasek Foundation Cares has partnered Spectra Secondary School in the programme since 2014. Since the start of the programme in 2014 to 2016, 99 students have benefited from the support of a Literacy and Numeracy Coach and Educational Psychologist, and all the supported students progressed to the next level of education in 2015 and 2016.
The new programme will see an additional Literacy and Numeracy Coach employed to focus on helping Secondary 4 N-level students. This involves:
- Conduct intervention sessions for students with special needs
- Provide in-class support for students with learning needs
- Provide transition support between Secondary School levels as well as from Secondary to post-Secondary education
- Source for industrial attachment opportunities suitable for students with learning needs
The programme is expected to benefit 100 Spectra students who need additional help in basic literacy and numeracy or require learning/ academic support from 2017 to 2018.
