The Temasek Foundation Cares - Play-Ability pilot programme seeks to provide persons with disabilities with more opportunities for regular participation in, and greater access to, sporting activities in the community.

FY 2016-2017

Temasek Foundation Cares - CareNights@Morning Star
Partner: Morning Star Community Services
Parents can now seek caregiving assistance for their children in the evenings through the pilot programme Temasek Foundation Cares – CareNights@Morning Star. The programme aims to help parents who need temporary respite from childcare in order to pursue skills upgrading courses or attend to family emergencies.

Stay Prepared - Storybooks on SGSecure for Students in Special Education Schools
Partner: Ministry of Home Affairs, Special education schools
A SGSecure storybook was published by the Ministry of Home Affairs, in consultation with the Ministry of Education, to guide students on what they should do in the event of a terrorist attack.

Stay Prepared - Programme to Study the Emergency Preparedness of the Singapore Community
Temasek Holdings launched the Temasek Emergency Preparedness (T-PREP) Fund in March 2014 to help people in Singapore prepare for emergencies and crises.

Temasek Foundation Cares - Project EMHFA(S) (Mental Health First Aid Singapore)
Partners: Changi General Hospital, Community Organisations
Studies show that 1 in 10 people in Singapore will have some form of mental illness in their lifetime. Early detection and intervention significantly improve the outcomes for people with or at risk of mental health problems. As key touchpoints for the general public, community-based organisations trained in mental health literacy will be able to serve as the frontline in early detection and intervention for mental health issues amongst residents and members, especially those in the vulnerable groups..

Temasek Foundation Cares - An Inclusive Future of Us
Partners: National Council of Social Service, Ministry of National Development, Special Education Schools
This was a special outreach programme which engaged 5,300 children with special needs and their caregivers to participate in the 'Future of Us' exhibition. These children were able to share their personal aspirations and hopes for the future, as well as their feedback which were also channelled to the SGFuture dialogues.

Temasek Foundation Cares - Project Hand-In-Hand
Partner: Association for Early Childhood Educators Singapore (AECES)
Temasek Foundation Cares - Project Hand-in-Hand is a community self-help programme which engages active seniors to be mentors to disadvantaged preschool children. These children do not attend pre-school regularly due to various challenging family circumstances. As a result, they miss out on development opportunities during their critical early years.

SMRT - Temasek Foundation Cares AED On Wheels
Partners: SMRT Taxis, Singapore Heart Foundation
Supporting organisations: National Fire and Civil Emergency Preparedness Council, National Taxi Association, Singapore Civil Defence Force

Every year there are 1,900 Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrests (OHCA), of which the survival rate is 3%. The survival rate falls by 7-10% for every minute without medical intervention.

Temasek Foundation Cares 'Stay Prepared' Community Outreach And Public Education Programme
Partners: KK Women's and Children's Hospital, Singapore Civil Defence Force, Singapore Heart Foundation, SMRT Taxis, ST Engineering
Themed 'Stay Prepared', the three-day community outreach event was held at Tampines Mall, a heartland shopping mall. Temasek Foundation Cares partnered ST Engineering, Singapore Heart Foundation, KK Women's and Children's Hospital, SCDF and SMRT Taxis to educate and engage the public on staying prepared, and building resiliency to unexpected crises and disasters.

FY 2014-2015

First Responder Programmes
Partners: Singapore Heart Foundation, Singapore Red Cross Society
Temasek Cares is partnering the Singapore Heart Foundation to raise the bystander response rate in cases of cardiac arrest outside the hospital. This programme aims to equip the community with basic resuscitation skills i.e. continuous chest compression-only resuscitation, where studies have shown that it is effective as a life-saving skill.

Temasek Cares - PPIS Family & Marriage Counselling Programme
Partners: Persatuan Pemudi Islam Singapura
This family and marriage counselling programme is specially catered to the needs of Malay/Muslim community taking into consideration the language, cultural and religious influences.

Temasek Cares - Care Close to Home
Partners: AWWA Seniors Activity Centre, Kreta Ayer Seniors Activity Centre, Agency for Integrated Care
With rising life expectancies in Singapore, the number of frail seniors with multiple chronic conditions and complex care needs will increase significantly. To be able to age-in-place, seniors will require access to a range of aged care services in the community and at home.

AIR+ Smart Masks and AIR+ Micro Ventilators for Vulnerable Children
Partners: ST Engineering, Singapore Post
Temasek Cares gave out AIR+ Smart Masks and AIR+ Micro Ventilators to more than 13,000 vulnerable children as part of the Temasek Cares 'Stay Prepared' initiative to help build the resilience of the Singapore community to cope with emergencies.

Temasek Cares - 'Stay Prepared' Starter Kits

A nationwide programme to distribute ‘Stay Prepared' Starter Kits to all Singapore households, building their resilience to emergencies.

Partners: CDAC, MENDAKI, SINDA, Eurasian Association
A joint collaboration between the self-help groups and Temasek Cares, the programme helps single-parent families to rebuild their lives and create stronger family units.

Temasek Cares - CAN (Caring Assistance from Neighbours)
Partner: Agency for Integrated Care
Helping the vulnerable elderly to better manage their health condition. Trained community caregivers visit the elderly at home to monitor their health and provide assistance on a daily basis.

Temasek Cares - iPAL (integrated Promoters of Active Living)
Partner: Agency for Integrated Care
Providing cognitive and stimulating activities to the elderly with dementia in their homes and respite for family members.
